Watercolor made approachable, joyful, and achievable

My watercolor workshops are designed to help beginners feel relaxed, confident, and inspired with paint and water. Rather than focusing on color-mixing theory, we work directly from the palette-using layering, light and shadow, and simple line-and-wash techniques to create depth, softness, and dimension. Students learn how to keep colors fresh and vibrant while allowing watercolor's natural flow to do much of the work.

As confidence grows, students begin layering to create depth, soft texture, corrections, and a gentle sense of dimension - all while painting with freedom and without overworking the paper.

My teaching style begins with whimsical and illustrative subjects as an inviting entry point into watercolor, helping students build confidence while developing their own artistic voice.

These workshops reflect my belief that watercolor lives in the balance between control and permission - guiding the painting while allowing it to surprise you.
